Kiera and Kellan together. It took me to the third book but I was so hung up on what happened to Denny I just couldn't get over it.In this, the third book Kellan and his band finally get their bit break when a famous female artist agrees to do a single with Kellan and the song shoots to number one giving the band and Kellan the file they needed to gain popularity. Kiera doesn't realize at the time that fame has a lot of prices and soon she is strung into the backseat when Kellans agent forces him to fake a very public relationship with this female artist. I adored Kiera's courage, I don't think I personally could have watched the man I love carry on with another woman even if it was a facade. Her trust and belief in Kellan was unbelievable and this story was absolutely amazing.

Reckless Thoughtless Book 3 eBook SC Stephens Reviews
I own a e-book copy and an Audible copy, but I didn’t have much time for highlighting in my e-book copy. I did finish my read in time to discuss it with the author in person while we were both attending the Authors in the OC book event in October though which was super cool and fun.

Kiera and Kellan finally figured out how to navigate and balance their romantic relationship with the stresses that came along with their careers. I liked their circle of friends and went right into the next novel, Untamed (Thoughtless #4), which focused on Kellan’s bandmate, Grif.
Is it really over??? (
I was one of the lucky few who received my paperback copy early last Friday. I was so thrilled to jump right in to Keira and Kellan all over again... But I didn't. I decided to take it back to the beginning and re-read the series straight through. I am so glad I did that!! First off, I've re-read the books in the past but it was different this time. I was so caught up in the Kellan tunnel the first time I read it, that I think I missed some things. Don't get me wrong, I am still seriously, over the top, in a completely unhealthy obsessive relationship with Kellan Kyle. But rereading the series with a "if I knew then what I know now" perspective allowed for a greater appreciation for the entire story. First, I was so much more devastated for Denny this time around. He truly represented all that is good and my heart broke for him. I better appreciated how his friendship with Keira rebuilt in Effortless and the crucial piece he played in the grand finale, reckless! I could understand her inability to decide what to do because there was really no better choice. And I could sympathize with the pain that she and Denny will always feel for what happened. When I first read it, I just got annoyed with her for not getting on with things, but I have a clearer picture this time around and a greater respect for how difficult this road really was.
I went through such a range of emotions while reading this book. Truly, I think I held my breath the entire time and fought the urge to throw up. I don't want there to be an end to this journey... yes, we are left in a wonderful place, but an end is still an end, and for that, I am sad!! I still found myself laughing uncontrollably at times (usually wherever Griffin appeared.) I felt the painful heart tugs with all of the drama thrown out their, (the sex tape, the music video, the constant obstacles thrown between Keira and Kellan) I also found myself in tears (Kellan crying at his parents grave.) It's the best kind of emotional roller coaster and I never wanted to get off!
I was so happy with a number of things in this story. First off, I loved what the author did by having Keira write her "story" of her love triangle. I loved that she almost sort of made fun of herself or her writing, anyway, in Thoughtless. The way all of us loyal readers initially had described Keira as whiney, wishy washy and at times, annoying, was thrown back at us in Reckless and I couldn't help but find the humor in that. I, at times, found it hard to connect "rock star Kellan" to "Seattle small-town singing in Pete's bar Kellan" because the dynamic in this story was so vastly different from the other books, that revisiting their early relationship while Keira wrote her"book" really helped me to reconnect where they came from to where they are now. I also love the closure that Keira' s book gave to Denny. I don't think I ever really considered that not having all the facts, Denny probably had a considerably different version of the situation in his head. I also loved what Kellan got from her story, seeing it all from Keira' s view was critical for them.
I knew going in that this book would be different from the others, knowing it was the last book, there probably wouldn't be that underlying threat of a breakup like there was in Thoughtless and Effortless, the fear that at any minute the bottom could do out. Or at least I assumed so. I assumed that we'd be getting our happily ever after, but still S.C. Stephens did not disappoint when it came to angst and drama. I thought the Joey sex tape was enough to push me over the edge...And right out of the gate no less. But the controversy stirred up with Siena Sexton just about drove me to drink. I was literally expecting Keira to pack up and head home. I wasn't even sure what the title 'Reckless' even meant for this story until the radio interview that set the world straight, when Kellan and Keira went rogue and went public with their relationship. Then, I GOT IT!!
I thought the author did such an amazing job, no surprise there, of wrapping up all the loose ends, no stone was left unturned. Over the course of the first two books and then a chunk of the third, Keira never once embraced the fact that she was beautiful. She never looked at herself as worthy of Kellan' s perfection and I always knew that this was her own projection and not reality... so with that said, I consistently asked myself over the course of the entire series "Why does Keira never get hit on???" It was always Kellan garnering unwanted attention and Keira sitting by catching dirty looks from his admirers. We all know she must be gorgeous, regardless of her unwillingness to believe it, so where are the guys that would undoubtedly be checking her out in the midst of all of this? And then it happened!!! I was so glad the author gave that to Keira... And to us, the readers!! I felt that was a crucial aspect of the story. I also loved that several times it was emphasized how beautiful Keira really was in this story... when she finally admitted it to herself, when Denny acknowledged it and through her being hit on finally hit that nail on the head.
I could really just go on and on about how satisfied I was with this ending. I loved all the characters met along the way coming together for this finale. I loved getting the insight into where they are now, Keira' s group of friends, the other bandmates, Kellan' s family, the Pete's bar crew... I loved that we got to meet them again and see them off in the end. New marriages, babies, engagements, jobs... it was a satisfying end for everyone.
I'll admit this book made me tremendously sad. The entire time I was reading I wanted the D-bags to pack it in and go back home. I missed them just living somewhat simple existences back home, playing at Pete's, with Keira waitressing there. I missed the little house that started it all, I hated the idea of Keira essentially sharing Kellan and the D-Bags with the world. I know... I know... this story showed that despite the fame and notoriety that came along, Kellan and Keira could survive it all. Selfishly, I just missed the Kellan that played his guitar on his grungy couch, ran in the park and had beers at the local bar. I missed Keira coming home to him and their quiet conversations over coffee. But such is life, things change and with all that changed, I felt what Keira felt... the fear that she'd lose Kellan to the world. I think I felt that same fear, thus hating change, wanting it to all to stay the same. But despite my sadness, I still adored it, and this will always be my favorite series.
I have to say, I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a heroine in a book as much as I dislike Kiera Michelle Allen-Kyle. She is exhausting and annoying and she is confusing as all hell. In book #2, she was unnecessarily jealous of every damn female that came within five minutes of Kellan, and now this time around when her jealously is pretty much warranted, she is not only okay with it but she actually convinces Kellan to do things that he honestly doesn’t want to do.
I honestly was hoping to love this book. The first two books had some issues but this book was really quite boring. I was actually sick to death of hearing Kiera talk about how gorgeous and perfect Kellan was with his wonderful hair etc. I also for the life of me could not understand why there all this best friends’ forever nonsense with her and Denny. Denny is her ex-boyfriend who she cheated on and who almost killed her and Kellan because of said cheating. It is unrealistic to believe that these three have become inseparable and such good friend with not an ounce of remorse.
As much issues as I had with the first 2 books, they were filled with angst/suspense and I actually was not able to put either book down until I finished. This book however, I found myself putting it down every half hour or so because it was boring me to tears. I got that they were in love but I felt like I just had to keep reading it on every page. As much in love as they were, it’s unrealistic that life on the road would not have any angst for Kiera and Kellan. There should have been more issues for them being on the road. Everything was just absolutely perfect for them. Even with the whole Sienna Sexton drama everything was still absolutely perfect for them. Kiera was a judgmental, overly jealous prude and all of a sudden life on the road with all its indecisiveness, Kiera has turned into this perfect girlfriend/wife.
Kiera and Kellan together. It took me to the third book but I was so hung up on what happened to Denny I just couldn't get over it.
